Brooks Ayers threatens to sue Meghan Edmonds, sends her a cease and desist letter

Brooks

After arguing with the ladies of the OC all season long about his health issues, Brooks Ayers is taking matters into his own hands. Last week, Brooks’s lawyer sent his arch nemesis, Meghan Edmonds, an official cease-and-desist letter, according to Radar.

Meghan has been up front with her belief that Brooks is faking cancer. She even went so far as to call various doctors offices pretending to be a cancer patient in order to corroborate his claims.

After months of serious accusations against him, Brooks has had enough.

Brooks’s cease and desist letter to Meghan claims her statements are “false and defamatory” and “have caused significant damage to Mr. Ayers’ reputation” as well as “extreme emotional distress.”

The letter goes on to say she acted “with actual malice and intent to harm…with reckless disregard for the truth.”

Though she wasn’t officially served with a lawsuit, Edmonds was threatened with legal action if she does not follow through with Brooks’s demands. The letter specifically states that Brooks “intends to file suit” against her “unless a mutual agreement can be reached to resolve this matter.”

Here are Brooks’s demands of Meghan:

1. Meghan must retract her statement that Brooks is faking his illness.

2. Meghan must go on record saying Brooks didn’t fake any medical records.

3. Meghan must acknowledge that she has “no personal knowledge” of his condition or medical knowledge to make such claims.

In addition to this laundry list, Brooks is asking that these statements be made on national TV. Meghan must also make a formal apology and a “promise to refrain from any further defamatory statements.”

Meghan

So, what does Nancy Drew–I mean Meghan–think about all this?

“It’s so ridiculous I simply laughed it off. He doesn’t have the balls to sue me,” she said in an interview with People.

The newbie Housewife confirmed she received the cease and desist letter from Brooks’s attorney: “I already got one letter threatening to sue if I don’t comply with his requests, including one to issue a formal public apology.”

Meghan received the letter just one day after taping the RHOC reunion. This supports the claim that new information was revealed during filming to make Vicki believe her ex was faking cancer.

Ayers was expecting a response by October 1st; however, Meghan admits to blowing it off.

“I am waiting patiently on my official documents that I’m being sued,” Meghan said. “I didn’t respond on purpose, because he’s full of crap and doesn’t have a case.”

When questioned if she thinks Brooks will follow through with a lawsuit, she responded, “He won’t. He knows he’s a liar and he’s pissed off at me and made a feeble attempt to intimidate me into not talking.”
