On tonight’s Married at First Sight, Ryan De Nino and Jessica Castro meet each other at the altar to exchange wedding vows. In a preview clip, she joyfully said after the ceremony, “I just got married and he’s really cute!” We don’t yet know Ryan’s reaction, but I’m pretty sure he felt the same way about his bride…
The 30-year-old Brooklyn beauty has quite an impressive modeling portfolio, which includes some local commercials, working as a Kiss New York Cosmetics spokesperson and even participating in the Get a Clue web series.
Jessica clearly has hustle — and confidence that it would all pay off.
“In five years you will see (me) on your television screen as a full time successful actress, playing a lead role on a television series,” Jessica said in a 2014 interview with Wits Magazine. “Never let anyone tell you ‘you can’t’ because you can. With determination, motivation and the right support system you can do anything you put your mind to.”
Jessica said she’s struggled to get footing in the entertainment industry because she didn’t start off with many resources and learned the hard way that many people can’t be trusted. She even applied for the first season of Married at First Sight before getting matched this time around. In the interview last fall, she said she kept pursuing her dream because she believes in her talent.
“I think what (me) moves to model and act is that I’m actually good at what I do,” she said. “I have this fire in me that’s wants to show the world what Jessica Castro is about and what I know I’m good at.”
We’ll have to wait to see whether Jessica and Ryan stay married at the end of Married at First Sight. But, at least they had one thing in common, considering Ryan also had a foray into acting before the show.
