Angelina got fired from a St. John ad campaign for being too famous, and is being replaced by the Karen Elson, wife of rocker Jack White who sports a mane of shocking red hair.
Also gone from St. John’? Blonde-haired daughter of St. John founder Marie Gray, Kelly Gray, St. John CEO Glenn McMahon tells Women’s Wear Daily.
Their reasoning for the changes? “[Jolie] overshadowed the brand. We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”
Kelly Gray has been a face for the brand for 23 years, posing for her parent’s company while on exotic vacation locales and surrounded by gorgeous men. Replacing her definitely means a change in the brand’s image, as the company decided to choose someone who looked strikingly different than the average model.
They should hire Jack White as well and hire Tim Burton as the director of photography for their ads.
