“We thought we were Jay-Z and Beyoncé,” Spencer Pratt told InTouch of how he and Heidi Montag blew through $10 million. “We were immature and we got caught up.”
Way back in 2010, we reported that Spencer and Heidi not only spent $10 million on rentals, cars, plastic surgery and healing crystals — but also owed $2 million in taxes. They ultimately moved in Spencer’s parents’ guest home.
Since then, the couple has scaled back on their spending.
“Every time we’d go out to eat, we’d order $4,000 bottles of wine. Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000 to $30,000 a day,” Spencer said of their old spending habits.
Chiming in, Heidi bragged, “Now I can spend like $100 at Victoria’s Secret. I feel like a different person.”
Heidi also looks like a different person. After getting a whole new face and body during the final season of The Hills, she downsized her breast implants from F- to D-cups this fall.
Now Heidi and Spencer have another makeover on their minds: their reputations.
“I didn’t realize people would only know me as that character. It was just a persona I played up to make a paycheck,” Spencer told InTouch.
Of course, actions speak louder than words — and their brand new fauxtoshoot makes it hard to believe they’ve really changed.
