Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are engaged!
The stars of two of the biggest teen dramas in recent history, The O.C. and Gossip Girl, began dating after meeting on the set of 2011’s The Oranges. They confirmed their relationship earlier this year. News of their engagement was originally reported by Star Magazine and later confirmed by People.
“Leighton and Adam are crazy about each other and have talked about getting married eventually,” a source told Star. “But she had no idea he would propose so soon! It was the surprise of her life and she’s ecstatic!”
Although the shows that made the actors famous were based in opposing coasts, Star reports Adam and Leighton are leaning toward a summer wedding on the West Coast.
“Right now their plan is to get married next summer,” the friend told Star. “They are still deciding if they want a destination wedding or if they’ll marry in Southern California somewhere.”
