Arby’s bought Pharrell’s big Grammy hat for $44.1K, hilariously tweeted about it
This is just perfect: Arby’s — the fast food restaurant with a big hat in its logo — purchased the similarly big hat Pharrell wore to the Grammy Awards for a cool $44,100. The proceeds go to Pharrell’s charity, From One Hand to AnOTHER.
The Vivienne Westwood “Mountain hat” became a social media sensation during the Grammy Awards. Arby’s even got in on the joke with a well-played tweet…
Y’all tryna start a roast beef? “@Arbys: Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back? #GRAMMYs”

The hat remained in the spotlight throughout much of February, when Pharrell wore it (or similar versions) out to dinner, charity events, the Oscar nominees luncheon and a German television show.
Pharrell put the Grammy hat up for auction on eBay in February. The winner was also promised an autographed copy of Pharrell’s new album and a letter of authenticity.
When the auction ended on Sunday, Pharrell tweeted he was trilled with the results…
Thank you to whoever bought my Grammy hat on @eBay for $44,100. Your donation benefits From One Hand To AnOTHER.

Shortly after that, Arby’s came forward as the winner…
What a pleasant surprise. Thank you @Arbys, our roast beef is now officially well done.

Later in the night, Pharrell wore a similar hat to perform Happy at the Academy Awards. No word on whether that will go up for auction… If it does, here’s to hoping that Smokey the Bear antes up!
