Alec Baldwin says ’30 Rock’ ending after next season
Alec Baldwin confirmed the fears of 30 Rock fans saying in an interview that next season would be the show’s last.
The sitcom’s co-star was being honored at the National Dance Institute’s annual fund-raising gala in New York City last night and seemed to be having a normal Q&A with New York Mag’s Vulture about dancing in high school, Donald Trump’s bid for presidency and writing a book when he unloaded this unexpected bomb:
“I will tell you one thing,” he said. “And that is our show next year is our last year of the show.”
It was pretty well-known that Alec had plans of leaving the show after next season, but this is the first solid indication that the show itself would not go on without him.
“Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She’s going to be the next Elaine May. She’ll be great.”
There has been no official response from Tina Fey or NBC.
