Alan Thicke advises son Robin Thicke and Paula Patton to adopt African children to become the ‘next Brangelina’
Growing Pains‘ Alan Thicke is undeniably proud of son Robin Thicke’s accomplishments — but he sure has a politically incorrect way of expressing it!
“I told [Robin], ‘You’re a power couple now. If you only adopt a few Ethiopian kids, you’d be the next Brangelina,'” Alan told Us Weekly of his advice for Robin and daughter-in-law Paula Patton.
The statement’s raising a few eyebrows among those on social media, even though Alan was likely joking. (The Emmy Award-winning comedy writer’s Twitter bio says, “I love people of all colors and persuasions, especially if they agree with me unconditionally and strive to satisfy my every whim.”)
Within the same interview with Us Weekly, Alan spoke a little bit more eloquently about his admiration for Robin.
“I’m thrilled for him. I’ve always dabbled in music. If I could have grown up to be Robin Thicke, I would have. But I’m glad somebody in the family did.”
