One of reality television’s most dramatic and volatile couples is “doing the same thing over again expecting a different result” as estranged Return To Amish spouses Jeremiah Raber and Carmela Raber announce they have called off their divorce — yet again.
Jeremiah broke the news with a Youtube video titled “Brand new start!!!” In the clip, Jeremiah reveals that he has continued to make paintings and he has been doing some work on his house before he gets to the big reveal.
“I’m also working on bettering myself…making me a better person because I myself need to change for better,” he says as the tone of the video gets serious. “I’m doing what I have to to better myself so I can be a better man, a better father, and a better husband.”
Jeremiah continues:
Some of you might not like what I have to say, and I honestly don’t care, because this is not about you guys, it’s about me. I am doing what I have to to make my marriage work. We are NOT going through a divorce. We’re working on making us better as an individual and as a couple.
So, if you don’t like it, that’s not my problem because here’s why: We’re getting over what happened in the past. So should y’all. Why should you hold a grudge against me if she doesn’t?
But you know what? It is going to work out, and we’re going to come back stronger and better than ever.
After Jeremiah shows off his three most recent paintings, we see a “Meanwhile in Washington” graphic just before Carmela begins her segment. As you might have guessed from the text in the graphic, Carmela is still in Vancouver, Washington. Unlike Jeremiah, Carmela has a job (Jeremiah explained why he can’t get one when he launched his GoFundMe campaign to cover mortgage costs last month) and she is preparing to go to her “sucky job” while feeling a bit under the weather. She guzzles down some Dollar Store cold medicine as she she explains that the reason she and Jeremiah are no longer a couple and no longer living together in their home, is because he didn’t listen to her.
The video cuts abruptly and we see Jeremiah in his kitchen as he says “True.”
The video goes back to Carmela and she continues to point out that she was right and Jeremiah was wrong — about what, specifically, is unclear.
The video cuts back to Jeremiah and he offers up his closing statement on their reconciliation:
As you guys saw, we are working on getting everything worked out. It’s gonna take time, but we’re gonna get it done. And nobody should be judging us, because you say you want me to be happy. You say you want her to be happy. Well, if that is the case, then you guys will support us with this decision because we’re doing it the right way this time, and we’re gonna come back stronger than ever.

Someone who apparently didn’t get the memo of #Jermela’s return is Carmela’s daughter-in-law (and mother of her grandaughter) Yuri. Carmela shared a Facebook post two days after the video announcement in which she praised Yuri’s style sense — including her choice of clothes and makeup. Yuri responded by letting Carmela know that she’s gonna help her single mother-in-law get “sooooooo seeexy” in hopes of finding Carmela a new man. “We about to look for a sexy new husband for the sexy new lady out here ?,” Yuri added.
A commenter wrote “Lol don’t tell Jeremiah,” to which Yuri responded: “ahah boo who ??”

It’s still unclear what Jeremiah and Carmela’s plans are as far as Carmela moving back to Florida. In addition to having a new job in Washington, she also has children in school there. As for now, I assume they will continue to cohabitate their Youtube channel and work on their relationship while remaining thousands of miles apart.
