MTV’s Awkward is coming to an end

MTV Awkward Season 5 End

MTV’s Awkward is set to disappear soon — but we’ll definitely notice!

The network announced today that Awkward will continue for a fifth and final season before concluding next year. The popular scripted show is currently portraying the core group of characters’ senior year of high school, but it’s still unclear whether season No. 5 will follow them to college.

With a strong average of 1.9 million viewers per episode, the show is going on a high note. Before then, there are a few big questions that must be resolved. Most important among them: Will Jenna end up with Matty? (PLEASE!)

The fourth season of Awkward continues on MTV on Tuesday at 10/9c.

  • Hmm?

Didn’t the creator of the show leave last season? Along with the actress that played Ming.

I thought Ming transferred to a different school to get away from the mafia but that might have been a way to just write off the actress…

I used to love this show, now I can’t really get into it. I saw a Q&A session with all of the actors and the gal who plays Jenna was super weird. I didn’t even recognize who she was for the first half of the Q&A. I kind of turned me off of the series.

    • Sarah

That was so odd!! I spent the first ten minutes of the show trying to figure out who she even was. The rest of the cast and the host were doing their best to ignore her completely. It was very strange. I still love the show though.

I’m so glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. Her hair was blond and she just sat there. I almost wondered if she is a character actor and working on another project, but that doesn’t seem to have been the case.

        • Josie

Not character actor…method actor is the term I think I’m looking for.

    • Kit

Where did you see the Q&A? Is it online?

      • Josie

MTV aired it after either the first or second season.

    • Glenda

Yes! The lady who plays Jenna turned me off of this show too. I saw an interview she did and she got mad at someone in a store because they didnt recognize her. And she seems way older than 22

Ummm I didnt even know this show was still on. I thought it was buried at the tv show cemetary with RJ Berger and My Life as Liz lol

NO! I love this show! It’s very funny and a show that my boyfriend and I both like (doesn’t happen very often). Sad to see it go :(

This show is the MTV equivalent of secret life of the American teenager, the show should of ended of the second season. The funny thing about this show is the everyone liked Ming and fans where asking to see her more in the show but they wrote her off instead, also what turn me off to the show is Jake and Tamara got together, it was a surpise but not a good one
