The penultimate Bravontrepreneur Bethenny Frankel continues to expand her ever-growing business empire, this time by adding to an already impressive author resume with her first children’s book! The 43-year-old former Real Housewives of New York City cast member made the announcement last week on her talk show and shared some previews of Cookie Meets Peanut with viewers.

Here’s a transcript of what Bethenny had to say about the book, including a couple preview photos of the interior!

I am so excited because I have some big news to share with all of you – I wrote my first children’s book! And I’m so excited because it’s a passion project. I love my dog Cookie, I love my little peanut Bryn, and the dynamic between them inspired me to write this book called Cookie Meets Peanut.

So I want all of you to be the first to see the cover.

It really is — when you have a dog — when you have a furry child, they’re your baby, they’re your everything, they’re your life. And then you have a baby and your dog becomes a dog. Amd my dog Cookie, she is 13, she is an old b*tch. And she was not having it at the time. I mean, she was cool, but she — it’s just that whole adventure about how a pampered furry child adjusts when it gets their first human sibling, and have to share their mommy for the first time. Many of you can probably relate.

Bethenny Frankel children's book Cookie Meets Peanut excerpt

So, basically, this is Cookie and Peanut getting into an adventure trying to cook a recipe with glitter and sparkles for when mommy gets home. And there are a lot of references for you adults, for the moms. A lot of, you know, they got to Starbarks to drink coffee and they like Bark Jacobs for bags.

So, it’s just really cute. I’m so excited about it. It is published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. They really get the imagination It’s so amazing. You have to have a great children’s book because it really keeps your kid’s attention. I’m an expert on this now because I read books every single night.

So look for it on sale beginning September 23. I can’t wait for your kids to read it. And, like I said, there’s a little something in there for moms too.

Cookie Meets Peanut joins an impressive catalog by the “Skinny Girl” founder that includes A Place of Yes, Naturally Thin, The Skinnygirl Dish and the novel Skinnydipping.

Here is the description of Cookie Meets Peanut from the publisher:

From self-made businesswoman and mom BETHENNY FRANKEL: a story inspired by her own life about two siblings–a new baby and one diva dog.

Cookie the dog is Mommy’s Furry Baby and everything is just the way Cookie likes it…until one day when Mommy comes home with a real baby! Little “Peanut” is suddenly getting all the attention, and Cookie gets left behind. As Peanut gets older, and walks and talks, Cookie is forced to make room in her doggy life for the little girl. After throwing Mommy a tea party, Cookie and Peanut realize they can have a lot of fun together. Cookie is a furry big sister now!

As mentioned by Bethenny, Cookie Meets Peanut will be published on September 23, 2014 — but you can pre-order your copy now (with their “Pre-Order Price Guarantee) at Amazon!

I hope its a good book and does well. If anyone was going to write a childrens book I thought it would Ms Marco from RHONJ. She claims she taught second grade.

Oh lawd. Stupid meet Greedy. Haha, no I hope it’s good. I agree with September, MeGo was a 2nd Grade teacher & her own kids are pretty cute & well behaved. & Since she writes songs hey why not. I remember when Madonna wrote her childrens book & I though oh hell no but my daughter loved that book (The English Roses), so you never know.
