Kate Gosselin filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against ex-husband Jon Gosselin Monday in Philadelphia.

The 17-page suit alleges that after they broke up Jon hacked into Kate’s email account, bank account, and phone and stole a hard drive that contained “confidential material.” He then gave that information to his friend Robert Hoffman, who wrote Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World, which the lawsuit says was taken off of Amazon because its information was illegally obtained.

The suit accuses Jon of wiretapping, computer hacking, identity theft and invasion of privacy.

Apparently Hoffman, who is also named in the lawsuit, said that he obtained his information by digging in Kate’s trash, but the suit refutes that, saying “The materials in his possession could not possibly be physically found in paper format to that extent. If Hoffman was picking through trash on the street, he did not find this trove of personal information while engaging in his trash-picking endeavors.”

Passages from what were said to be Kate’s personal journals were published in the book, including a part where she talks about spanking her children with a wooden spoon.
