Big Ang’s son A.J. Donofrio arraigned for allegedly selling cocaine to an undercover cop

Big Ang's son A.J. Donofrio

Larger than life Mob Wives personality Angela Raiola, known commonly as “Big Ang,” has a criminal history of selling drugs. Now it looks like her son Anthony “A.J.” Donofrio is following in her law-breaking footsteps.

Yesterday the New York Post reported that 23-year-old Donofrio was being held on $200,000 bond for alleged drug peddling. He plead not guilty during a brief appearance before Justice James Sullivan.

Angela Raiola with her son A.J. DonofrioAccording to the report, many supporters of Anthony’s were on hand as the prosecutor, Timothy Gearon, listed in detail the crimes the young man and 4 others; Michael Donovan, Robert Ottofaro, Mohamed Farraj and Antonio Deangelis were being charged for.

“This was a long-term investigation. Over 700 oxycodone pills were sold and the price of that was close to $14,000.”

Per the criminal complaint Donofrio sold bags of cocaine to an undercover cop last Dec. 7.  Then he led this same undercover officer to a friend for oxycodone. Furthermore, Gearon said he has audio and video recordings of Donofrio discussing the drug-dealing operation with some of the other men charged in the sting.

Donofrio’s lawyer said that his client is denying the charges and that A.J. is convinced of his innocence. He added while strongly disagreeing with the steep bond:

“I think we should wait to see what type of proof they’ve got before we rush to judgment.”

This isn’t A.J.’s first run-in with the law as he was previously arrested and charged for allegedly beating a man with a pipe as well as a DUI. He’s also appeared on Mob Wives a few times including a couple of occasions in which his mom implores him to quit the street life.

If you wanted to get to know Anthony a little better I was able to find the following podcast in which he talks about his Pizzeria, the girls he’s in to and maybe doing his own reality show (of course).
