On the heels of the devastating storms that brutalized the Southeast a trail of storms have wreaked havoc on the Midwest taking a horrible amount of life with them. I recently visited friends in Birmingham, Alabama and the horror they communicated was extremely real and palpable. I grew up in hurricane country and with that you prepare and you move on the best you can but with tornadoes you just just hope and fear. At least that’s what folks who lived through these storms conveyed to me.
There are a number of videos from all of these recent storm but I just came across the following brief clip that fully demonstrates the awesome destructive power of a tornado. A news helicopter was on the trail of a tornado as it whipped down Interstate 40 near Shawnee, Oklahoma. In this footage you see it seeming to take out a semi truck on purpose leaving nothing recognizable in its wake.

According to CNN affiliate KOCO the driver survived and only has minor injuries. With the footage I just witnessed I can’t call that fact anything but a miracle.
