Dean Sheremet was shocked when, after eight years of marriage, LeAnn Rimes revealed during a phone conversation that she had cheated with Eddie Cibrian.
“I never saw it coming,” Dean said during an interview for Access Hollywood, explaining LeAnn told him a magazine “may or may not have a picture” of her and Eddie kissing. “You have that assumption that the person that you’re with would never do something like that.”
Since the cheating scandal broke in 2009, Dean’s kept a pretty low profile. He now works as a chef in New York City and is happily re-married. Although he doesn’t often think of LeAnn and talks to her even less, he doesn’t mind when his first marriage is brought up in interviews…
“It’s fine because I’ve really laid low during the whole thing. It’s part of my story and it’s the reason that I get to do awesome cooking segments. Whatever it is that gets me in the door is fine. I’m really a chef!”
Dean’s latest interview is likely considered good news to LeAnn, who admitted to E! News in 2012 that she should have handled the situation differently.
“All I wish is that everyone that was hurt, that we hurt, that I hurt, can be happy.”
UPDATE Sounds like LeAnn didn’t actually take this as good news. After getting wind of Dean’s latest comments, the singer said on Twitter, “I’ve got nothing! Over it, long gone, next… I mean really!?”
LeAnn also agreed with followers who commented Dean is jealous.
