VIDEO Kenya Moore announces she is expecting a child later this year on RHOA Reunion

Kenya Moore announces pregnancy

Kenya Moore is pregnant! Well, she will be “welcoming a boy or girl” later this year at least. The 47-year-old former Miss USA dropped the bombshell announcement just minutes into The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 Reunion Sunday night after Andy asked about any baby news as a conversation starter.

“Any word of a baby twirl?” Andy asked after saying his initial “Hi!” to Kenya. [Full video included at the bottom of the post.]

“Well, here she wouldn’t be named Twirl, for sure — that’s my dog’s name,” Kenya laughed, “but yes.”

There was some confusion as the couches fell silent and eyebrows were raised all around. Porsha, who was sporting a bejeweled crown, broke the silence with her astonishment: “‘Yes’ you’re pregnant?!”

“Oh, umm…” Kenya pauses and laughs. “Is that a question?” she asks.

NeNe does not have the patience as she waves her hand and declares: “We are all wai-TING!”

“We will definitely be welcoming a boy or girl in late this year,” Kenya replied, inspiring laughter from her couch (Porsha and Cynthia) and some very silent, tight-lipped nodding from Sheree across the rug.

“Oh, my God, I said that!” Kenya exclaimed. Andy responded with his patented reunion astonishment whiplash, looking left to right to left with his mouth agape.

“Are you serious?” NeNe asked, this time with less sarcasm. “Don’t play with us, Kenya!”

“I wouldn’t play about anything like that,” Kenya assured her.

“How many months are you?” Andy asked.

“Well, I don’t want to talk about the details because I’m just still — I’m just still very nervous about everything,” Kenya said, “and I just want to get past a safe place.”

“Do you want a boy or a girl?” Andy then asked.

Kenya dodged the question expertly. “I want a healthy baby,” she responded.

The child will be the first for Kenya and her husband of ten months, Marc Daly, and confirms earlier behind-the-scenes reports from the Reunion that she was expecting. The two have been very open about their desire to have children, and were reportedly looking into IVF treatments last year.

Kenya was live tweeting the Reunion, and she expressed her gratitude for her co-stars’ overwhelmingly positive response to the baby news:

One tweeter pointed out that Kenya stated that there “will definitely be welcoming a boy or girl in late this year,” but she never specified if she was pregnant. Could the baby be via surrogate?

That still leaves adoption on the table though, right? We need to nail Kenya down on this! LOL. (Seriously though, her announcement seemed to awkwardly dodge any mention of being pregnant, and she never so much as gestured to her belly. It does have my conspiracy theory sense tingling!)

UPDATE – On Monday, Kenya gave the first indication that she is actually pregnant in an Instagram post. “I was not planning on speaking about my pregnancy this early as due to my age I’m high risk,” she wrote. But there is still hope for all you conspiracy theorists as Kenya soon deleted that post.

Congratulations to Kenya and Marc! I really cannot imagine what a pregnant Kenya Moore is going to be like, but I cannot wait to find out. 🙂

Meanwhile, be sure to keep up with ALL the post-season Real Housewives of Atlanta drama next week with Part 2 of the Season 10 Reunion!
