Taylor Swift helped pay off a fan’s student loans AND gave her a load of heartfelt gifts
Maybe Taylor Swift should set up a scholarship fund. The generous singer send a fan a check for $1,989 to help with her student loan debt stashed inside a clutch with “New York is my boyfriend” emblazoned on it.
The package was delivered to Rebekah Bortniker via a bodyguard in a FedEx box with the “Fed,” marked out, and replaced with “Swift.” It included a necklace, a polaroid, and a watercolor Taylor made. Rebekah had been in correspondence with Taylor, and mentioned that she was swimming in student loan debt. $1,989 probably won’t erase that debt, but it will no doubt go a long way. As far as marketing schemes go, this one is extremely intricate, personal, and heartfelt.
