Mom hopes horrific home invasion footage will result in capture of criminal

Vicious-New-Jersey-burglary

Last week a Millburn, New Jersey mom was put in the hospital after a man invaded her home and viciously beat her in front of her motionless 3-year-old daughter.

The invasion that took place on Friday around 10:30 AM was caught on video by a nanny cam. The unidentified mother and police have released the brutal footage in hopes that it will aid in the capture of the man who committed this horrible act.

After the video circulated that shows the unarmed mom who offered no resistance being punched, kicked and choked, other area police forces offered their assistance. Crimestoppers has also posted a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the man.

Here is the video report filed by News 12 New Jersey. We give this type of warning often but for this particular story it can’t be emphasized enough, this video is extremely violent and should be viewed with discretion.

The mother told News 12 that even in the face of such extreme violence she still had the wherewithal to keep herself from reacting in a way that might have got her daughter hurt. At first she screamed but then as the beating continued she became silent.

“I knew that if I started screaming, my daughter would too, and I was afraid she would get hurt. I took it. I didn’t cry the entire time.”

At the end of the footage you see the woman being shoved into the basement. She managed to call the police from a phone that was located in the basement. The man was said to have made off with several pieces of jewelry including the woman’s wedding ring.

The mother was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for a concussion as well as injuries to her face and legs.

She also had an 18-month-old that was sleeping upstairs. She said of wanting the footage circulated, “They need to help us get him off the street. He’s not just a burglar, he’s violent.”

The instinctual fortitude of a mom when her children are in danger always astounds me.
