Sam Lufti’s case against Britney Spears dismissed by judge

Britney Spears and her family just had a great day in court. The lawsuit against Britney and her parents Lynne and Jamie brought by her self-proclaimed former manager Sam Lufii has been completely thrown out by a judge who claims that his allegations of libel, breach of contract, and battery don’t add up.

Yesterday, Brit’s parents filed a motion to have the claims thrown out, arguing that Sam was never injured by Jamie in their 2008 scuffle and that Sam was never under a legal contract with Britney that would entitle him to back salary, and the judge agrees.

After an eight-day trial, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Suzanne Brugera announced, “I really thought long and hard, so the motions are granted…as to all the defendants and all the causes of action. That is the right thing to do, so I am going to do it.”

During the hearing, attorney Michael Aiken addressed Jamie and Sam’s 2008 altercation with the judge, saying, “It was not a planned event. It was purely an incident that occurred on the spur of the moment. Whether we call it a punch or a poke, the fact of the matter is, he wasn’t hurt. There was no pre-planned event. Lufii said [he] was going to be fine and how can you award damages to someone who said he was fine?” Sam’s attorney argued that just because he didn’t have any broken bones and didn’t call the police doesn’t mean he wasn’t injured.

There were other issues addressed such as the libel charge regarding Lynn’s memoir in which she claims that Sam ground up pills to medicate Britney without her knowledge, unplugged her phone, and hid her dog, among other things. Lynne’s attorney claims that she was told these things by Sam and believed them, therefore, she cannot be held accountable.

On the way out of the courthouse, Sam told pres, “I am going to appeal.”

All parties are due in court tomorrow, when the jury will officially be informed that the case has been dismissed.
