Will Robin Thick win Paula Patton back with a new song?

Robin Thicke wrote a song about trying to get wife Paula Patton back. Last year, at the height of his success with “Blurred Lines” Robin engaged in some pretty blatant dallying around. Paula put on a brave face and played the role of a forgiving wife for a while, but by this February they were done.

He’s since hosted a no-pants party, which probably didn’t go over well with his estranged wife. Since the split was announced he’s been very vocal about his intentions to win back Paula, and she’s remained diplomatic and graceful as always, maybe more so than usual.

Robin has often dedicated love songs to Paula on stage during performances since the break, but his biggest coup is to perform his new song “Get Her Back” at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 18. “I should’ve kissed you longer/ I should’ve held you stronger / And I’ll wait for forever for you,” he croons in the torch song. “I gotta get her, go get her back/ I gotta treat her right /I gotta cherish her for life.”

Maybe it will work, Paula still seems to be carrying a tiny candle for Robin, too. In the latest Vanity Fair, Paula says “there’s a deep love there — always was, and always will be.”
