Rob Lowe is ‘untouchable’ in unforgettable Lifetime trailer
I’m a big fan of Bill Simmons and his blog Grantland. They recently threw down with the The Best Movie Trailers Ever but I believe the recent submission by Lifetime and a mustached Rob Lowe will change all that. It is that powerful and unforgettably incredible.
The film, Drew Peterson: Untouchable, is based on a 2008 book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson. Peterson is a former police sergeant from Bolingbrook, Illinois who is suspected of murdering his third and fourth wives. Peterson has repeatedly denied involvement in both cases. In spite of his denial, Peterson was indicted by a Will County, Illinois grand jury and charged with the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
Peterson is currently held at the Will County Adult Detention Center in Joliet IL, awaiting trial.
Here, for your viewing pleasure is what has quickly become one of my personal all-time favorite trailers as Lowe delivers but one line that will forever be remembered:
“I’m untouchable, b!tch.” – Rob Lowe as Sergeant Drew Peterson.
Obviously this is extremely serious subject matter and Peterson’s defense has been fighting to prevent the movie from being shown on the network. The former sergeant recently was shown this very trailer by his attorney Joel Brodsky and had the following to say:
“That’s hilarious.”
Brodsky had the following additional comments about the film and his problems with it.
“That’s the first time he or I have heard him being accused of using that term,” Brodsky said. “Which just goes to show you this movie is not reality; it’s entertainment. It’s a pretty stiff burden to try to stop something from being published or shown,” Brodsky said. “The case law is strongly in favor of the freedom of speech. … My hope is that people understand that a Lifetime entertainment movie is not a substitute for facts presented in a court of law.”
He added:
“When Drew Peterson is acquitted, there are a number of people who are going to have to be concerned about libel suits because a lot of people have wrongfully said that Drew Peterson is a murderer.”
The film, Drew Peterson: Untouchable is set for a January 21st premiere at 8PM EST.
