Multiple sources report singer Ariana Grande plans to take legal action against blogger Perez Hilton, who accused the Nickelodeon star of using cocaine.
Perez began stirring up trouble on Monday by directing tweets at Ariana that said he “heard someone saw you doing cocaine at a party this weekend” and he was praying for her to overcome. He also tweeted at Ariana’s brother, Frankie Grande, saying he’s “hearing awful things about what she’s been doing.” Perez even directed a tweet at Nickelodeon, feigning concern for the Sam & Cat star and begging the network to “help her before it’s too severe.”
Ariana’s reps told Radar Online the claims are absolutely false. A source close to the 20-year-old told Gossip Cop‘s she’s so upset by the lies that she plans to sue Perez — and could have a libel case if she proves the blogger’s allegations harmed her career opportunities.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old blogger claims he’s the victim: Some of Ariana’s fans wrote on social media they wish death upon Perez and his baby. Ariana initially didn’t respond, leading Perez to call her out in an Instagram caption: “Ariana keeping quiet is condoning and promoting that behavior! Shameful, Ariana. Shameful! Quite being such an enabler and SAY SOMETHING!”
She eventually tweeted to her 13.5 million followers: “arianators, I know u don’t like when ppl say bad things about me but please don’t wish negativity upon any1. don’t give up ur light.”
Perez has dealt with a few lawsuits throughout his blogging career. In one of the more notable instances, Samantha Ronson accused him of defamation for republishing reports she planted drugs in ex-girlfriend Lindsay Lohan’s car and saying she was toxic for the Mean Girls star. The case was ultimately dismissed.
