PHOTOS Zooey Deschanel and Tommy Hilfiger are teaming up for a capsule collection
She may be a new girl to the fashion game, but Zooey Deschanel already has a major partnership with Tommy Hilfiger. The pair announced today they teamed up for a “capsule collection,” which will be available at Macy’s and online in April. The line is called “To Tommy, From Zooey.”
Speaking with Women’s Wear Daily, Tommy Hilfiger described the 16 mini-dresses as “sixties-inspired short dresses” with a “very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy” style.
Tommy was also very complimentary of Zooey, whom he called “very bright and very funny, and really down to earth, the girl next door.” He added they met at a pool party a few years ago when they struck up a conversation about vintage clothes. He went on to design her dress for the 2013 Met Gala (shown at top).
Naturally, Zooey is also delighted to partner with the fashion icon.
“Working with Tommy on this capsule collection has been really amazing,” Zooey said, adding Tommy’s guidance “helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
Fourteen of the 16 dresses will launch in Macy’s next April. The additional two dresses will be available on Tommy.com the following week. Prices range from $98 to $199.
