The Little Couple‘s Bill Klein sure knows how to treat his lady right!
After watching wife Jennifer Arnold battle cancer while also adjusting to life as a new mom, Bill decided Jen was due for some spoiling — so he planned a surprise vow-renewal ceremony to coincide with Jen’s 40th birthday.
“It turned out great,” he told People. “She was so surprised. It has been a crazy year, good and bad, and we came out unscathed. I really wanted to make it happen and do something special for Jen.”
Bill put his big plan in motion months ago, but managed to keep it a secret from Jen until he re-proposed to her on April 26 and asked her to renew their vows the following day.
Jen said, “Bill took me completely by surprise and it was in a good way.”
For the ceremony the next day, Bill and Jen said their vows on a beautiful beach in Galveston, Texas. They were joined by 50 family members and friends.
“I don’t know how he got all of our family and friends there,” Jen said. “It blew me away.”
Bill joked, “Even though she found out about it last-minute, she came up with better vows than the ones I wrote.”

Afterward, Bill, Jen and their guests had a kid-friendly reception at Hotel Galvez & Spa. For the adults, Bill selected all of Jen’s favorite foods. And, for the kids, there were mini corn dogs, chicken nuggets and a cupcake-decorating area.
Jen said she was amazed by Bill’s thoughtfulness — and added having kids Will and Zoey there made it even more meaningful.
“It was wonderful… more beautiful than I could believe. Being on the beach and having the kids there, it was definitely different this time around.”
Bill and Jen’s vow renewal will be featured on the season finale of The Little Couple on June 17.
