Even though Branka Delic created a petition to convince Jon Bon Jovi to walk her down the aisle, she was still shocked when he showed up at her Las Vegas wedding on Oct. 12.
Fortunately for the super-fan, Bon Jovi was in Vegas at the same time as Branka’s wedding to Gonzalo Cladera. Despite a tight schedule, Bon Jovi was able to steal away from his “Because We Can” tour long enough to meet the couple at the Graceland Wedding Chapel. (It was also a walk down memory lane for the Living on a Prayer singer who wed his own wife at the Graceland Wedding Chapel two decades ago.)
“I said to Gonzo, ‘If this is some sick joke I am going to cry,'” the Australian bride recalled to Daily Telegraph of her reaction when she saw another limo waiting at the wedding chapel. “Then I saw his silhouette in the limo. He got out and said, ‘Hey you look beautiful.'”
After her initial shock wore off, Branka said it time for the other attendants to be surprised.
“There were all these other brides there and you should have seen the looks on their faces,” the 34-year-old newlywed said. “He walked me down the aisle and he was trying to give me to Gonz but I wouldn’t let go. I didn’t cry because I didn’t want to ruin my make-up and look awful.”
Although the groom had added competition on his wedding day, he was just thrilled his bride was so happy.
“Apart from Branka being a stalker and kissing him, not letting go, it was all great,” he said. “He shook my hand and wished me well.”
After walking the joyful bride down the aisle, Bon Jovi went back to work on his tour — but not before sending out a congratulatory tweet: “May you & Gonzalo have a lifetime of happiness, love & memories together – ALWAYS!”
