PHOTOS Jill Dillard’s baby set a hospital record
It sounds like 19 Kids and Counting‘s Jill Dillard will be returning (or, rather, saving) a lot of newborn clothes because 3-day-old Israel David Dillard was simply too big of baby!
At 23 inches long, People reports not-so-little Israel is the biggest baby born at the Arkansas hospital this year. There was just one baby who measured as long during 2014.
Jill hoped to have a home-birth, but admitted things “didn’t go as planned” and she had to have Israel at a hospital. And that’s not the only wrench his size threw in the new parents’ plans: They said her siblings had to rush out for new baby clothes and diapers because the newborn sizes were too small.

From what I can find online, it looks like Jill is 5’5″ tall while Derick is about 6’2″. Although neither are particularly big, Jill said last fall that she anticipated their baby would be…
“We could have a giant,” Jill said in October. “I called Derick’s mom and she was telling me that when Derick was born, he didn’t fit into the newborn clothes and his shoes were a size two.”
At the time, Derick said he was praying for “a big, healthy baby” — while Jill said she would prefer one who was “just healthy.”
