So which is more kick-butt, Gerard Butler, his mullet or Gerard Butler’s stunt double’s mullet? Butler is currently in Detroit filming the movie Machine Gun Preacher where a few on set photos have been released. In the photos you can see Butler in full on mullet glory as well as his stunt double, crew, and a pretty gnarly motorcycle to boot.
Machine Gun Preacher is a fact-based drama that finds Butler portraying Sam Childers, an outlaw who renounces his bad ways and becomes a warrior for desperate children in Southern Sudan.
Via the official website for the real Machine Gun Preacher it says that:
Rev. Sam Childers is the founder and leader of the Children’s Village in Southern Sudan. Years after Sam turned his life around, he was exposed to the atrocities towards children in the region. After running a successful construction company for several years, Sam gave up his business to dedicate himself to the full time rescue and rehabilitation of children. His wife Lynn and two daughters have made significant contribution to this work and live with him at headquarters in Pennsylvania USA.
Sam Childers has been rescuing and restoring war affected children in northern Uganda and Southern Sudan for nearly 12 years. His organisation has the largest orphanage in Southern Sudan and is unique in its approach of leading armed rescue missions directly into LRA (Lords Resistance Army) territory.
It is quite a compelling story and one custom made to become a Hollywood film.

Machine Gun Preacher is being directed by Marc Forster, (Monsters Ball – The Kite Runner), and is set for a 2011 release.
