Congratulations are officially in order for Gypsy Sisters‘ Mellie Stanley, who finally confirmed her second pregnancy on a holiday special after months of speculation.
The Gypsy Sisters: Naughty or Nice Christmas show didn’t try to mask Mellie’s growing bump for long — the girls all gathered in the first scene for some ice skating, but a visibly pregnant Mellie announced she was going to sit out the risky activity. The mother of “Baby Richard” then explained she was shocked to find out she was pregnant, but is excited to welcome her second child.
That left two questions: Is Mellie expecting a girl or boy? And, who is the dad?
She answered the first question later in the special. After getting a new ultrasound, Mellie made a trip to the thrift store and picked out a gift for Baby Richard that would also serve to reveal Baby No. 2’s sex… It was a girl teddy bear, meaning a little Mellie is on the way!
That just left the one other question about the father’s identity. Mellie was dismissive of the subject on the show, saying he was just a guy she had a brief fling with earlier in the year. She later elaborated on Facebook that his name is Nick Picolo. She added, “We are not together I don’t want my kids around heroin addicts so i left.”
I was able to track down a bit more information about him and discovered that not only does Nick have quite an extensive record, but he is actually currently serving time in prison.
He has been arrested for driving with a suspended or revoked license, vehicle registration violations, eluding police, working with a counterfeit money operation, dwelling in a house with intent to commit larceny, simple assault, vandalism, possessing controlled substances and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was again busted earlier this year for felony probation violation. Before starting a prison sentence in October, he thanked friends and family for support and said it was time for a new beginning.
Although she referred to herself as Nick’s wife in an April Facebook post, Mellie didn’t seem to have any relationship with Nick when he went to prison. She is due to give birth on January 30.
