PHOTO Johnny Cash to be featured on USPS Forever Stamp

Johnny Cash postage stamp

That, my fiends, is already my favorite United States Postal Service stamp and it doesn’t even exist yet!

The late incomparable man in black, Johnny Cash, has received the honor of having his likeness represented on a Forever Stamp as the first part of the “Music Icons” series. The stamp is designed to resemble a 45 rpm record sleeve. The black-and-white portrait of Cash featured on the stamp is from 1963 and comes courtesy of Frank Bez, who took the photograph for inclusion on a greatest-hits compilation.

Mark Saunders with USPS stated that Cash will be the first of three performing artists in the series. Cash’s stamp will be issued later in 2013.

Now you can seriously represent when you send your own “Tear Stained Letter!”
