Jennifer Aniston was spotted out and about in New York City on Tuesday sporting a new bit of skin ink on the inside of her right foot. Rumors spread that the instep tattoo was for Jen’s new beau Justin Theroux, who is no stranger to the world of skin art. But Jennifer reportedly let the
cat dog out of the bag Thursday while taping her episode of Inside the Actors Studio with James Lipton when she revealed the tattoo is the name “Norman” in honor of her recently deceased Welsh corgi-terrier mix.
A teary-eyed Aniston revealed that the name of her lovable pooch, who passed away in May at the age of 15, was her “favorite word.”
Jennifer talked about Norman’s passing with People soon after:
“He died a few weeks ago,” Aniston’s rep confirms to PEOPLE. “He was an old dog and it was just his time.”

Norman was an A-list celebripup in his day, often being photographed with Jennifer taking romantic strolls on the beach or appearing together on talk shows, and the tattoo was just the latest in Jennifer’s collection of skin art tributes to men she has been in long-term relationships with. Perhaps her second tattoo will say “Justin!”
