My Name is Earl star Jason Lee beat his ex-wife Carmen Llywellyn, knocked her unconscious

The actor who played the lovable hick on My Name is Early might not be so gentle and kind-hearted in real life, according to his ex-wife Carmen Llywellyn.

The couple were married from 1995 to 2002 and sometime during that period Jason Lee converted to Scientology, and beat her. Probably in that order.

Llywellyn, an actress and photographer, told the National Enquirer print edition (via Stupid Celebrities) that Lee “was a drunk who beat me up. He whacked me in the face and knocked me unconscious. Once, I was knocked out cold for at least 30 seconds. I had to have my jaw wired.”

During the divorce proceedings, they met with Scientologists who “browbeat” her into signing a divorce settlement that she didn’t agree with. Llywellyn also claims that after the divorce Scientologists stalked her and tried to intimidate and scare her, which eventually drove her to move from L.A. to her hometown: Atlanta, Georgia.

About Scientology, she says: “I have never spoken about Scientology before, but I still have nightmares about these people. They ruined my life and my career. I ended up addicted to painkillers, and it took three rehabs to get me straight.”

Carmen Llywellyn has appeared in a number of films in small rolls, and continues to pursue acting and photography. During 2006 and 2007, she made entries in a blog, Book of Girl.
