Shellie Zimmerman (25), the wife of George Zimmerman (28) who is facing a murder trail for killing Trayvon Martin, has been arrested around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and jailed for committing perjury. George was charged with second-degree murder February 26, and his $150,000 bond was revoked June 1 because $135,000 in Paypal donations for George’s defense fund was not made known during a bond hearing in April.
Shellie allegedly lied about her husband’s finances during that hearing.
The judge said:
“It is apparent that [Shellie] Zimmerman testified untruthfully at the bond hearing. The Defendant also testified, but did not alert the Court to the misinformation. Had the Court been made aware of the true financial circumstances at the bond hearing, the bond decision might have been different.”
Shellie’s bond is set at $1,000, and she was taken to the same facility her husband George is staying in.
