Arguably the sexiest female contestant to compete on ABC’s The Bachelor is returning to the Bachelor mansion! But instead of looking for love, Melissa Rycroft will be co-hosting a spin-off of the two popular match-making reality competitions called Bachelor Pad alongside Bach and -Ette veteran host Chris Harrison.
In addition to her overall hotness, fans may remember Melissa as perhaps the most brutally jilted contestant in Bachelor history. Season 13 Bachelor Jason Mesnick gave Melissa the final rose, but immediately changed his mind and dumped the poor girl on air to return to his runner-up, and eventual wife, Molly Melaney. Melissa has been busy since her appearance on The Bachelor. As we reported in a previous post about Jason Mesnick and Molly Melaney’s wedding, Melissa has gone on to wed Tye Strickland, compete on Dancing With the Stars, appear as a contributor to Good Morning America and work as a reporter on Entertainment Tonight. She spoke with People about her new career opportunity:
I’m excited.” Rycroft tells PEOPLE. “It’s fun. It’s a brand new experience for me. I’ve never been on that side but I’m anxious. I’m excited and ready to start.”
Bachelor Pad, which is already being filmed, will feature a reunion of ““some of the most unforgettable contestants and suitors,” according to ABC. These contestants and suitors will shack up together in a mansion and compete for challenges and dates as well as a cash prize of $250,000. Oh, and a second chance at love of course!
