Mark Wahlberg goes gun show for Pain and Gain, puffs with teddy bear for Ted

Wahlberg on the set of Pain and Gain

Actor Mark Wahlberg is one of the busiest men in Hollywood. The dude’s IMDB page is starting to get some scroll length and folks who’ve worked with Mark have almost always had universally good things to say about his dedication and work ethic.

We griefed up Mark a little bit when he suffered some serious foot-in-mouth disease by insinuating he could have stopped one of the airplane crashes during the 9/11 tragedy. He apologized for how it came out and then gave others in the same situation a good life lesson. Just put your nose to the grindstone, work hard and stay out of the spotlight.

Currently Mark has two things hitting the pop culture landscape, the first are some seriously buff pics taken of the man on the set of Pain and Gain. So what’s Pain and Gain about? Here ya go…

A pair of bodybuilders in Florida get caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong.

The other body builder in question is The Rock and it’s being directed by Transformers man Michael Bay.

The second Wahlberg winner making the rounds is the red band trailer for Ted, the film directing debut for Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. So what’s Ted about? Here ya go…

A story centered on a man and his teddy bear, who comes to life as the result of a childhood wish.

Sounds pretty weak for a concept but I have to admit that I found myself laughing when I caught the trailer. Heads up, this is a red band so it’s not appropriate for all ages:

MacFarlane said of Wahlberg and that girl naming scene that:

“He is the single most prepared human being. It’s astonishing. I would be dead in the water if I had to memorize that many names in a row. I was expecting to have to have cue cards. And Mark said, ‘No, I got it.’ He just rattled them all off from memory. It was insane.”

Ted is looking for a July release but the gun show from Pain and Gain won’t be until 2013.
