Lindsay Lohan’s Grand Theft Auto lawsuit: Legit or ridiculous?
Lindsay Lohan has reportedly asked her lawyers to take action against Grand Theft Auto V makers Rockstar Games, claiming they owe her $$ because they used her likeness in the game.
Lindsay’s claims:
– The cover features a girl who looks like Lindsay.
– There’s a mission where a girl who looks like Lindsay asks you to take her home and escape the paparazzi.
– Another mission asks a player to photographer a girl who resembles Lindsay having sex at the Chateau Marmont, a frequent haunt and former home of Lindsay.
Grand Theft Auto V pulled in $1 billion in sales in just three days of its’ release, so it looks like Lindsay’s hoping for a quick settlement to get her out of their hair. If this case goes to trial, it doesn’t seem likely that it will stick. As Forbes‘ Erik Kain points out, Lindsay Lohan isn’t the only young celebrity to be chased by the paparazzi or hang out at the Chateau Marmont, for that matter. The girl on the cover resembles Lindsay, but she also resembles a number of other young starlets.
Lindsay previously sued E-Trade for using a “milkaholic” baby named Lindsay in one of their commercials, and Pitbull for his lyrics “Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein’, to keep flowin’/ I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.” The E-Trade suit was settled out of court, but Pitbull got Lindsay’s lawsuit against him tossed out.
Do you think she has a case?
