Kidd Kraddick dead at 53 from reported brain aneurysm
Kidd Kraddick, the popular radio host of Kidd Kraddick in the Morning died Saturday night of a reported brain aneurysm while working at children’s charity function in New Orleans.
“It has been confirmed that Kidd Kraddick passed away today in New Orleans at a golf tournament organized to raise money for his beloved Kidd’s Kids charity,” confirmed the owner of KISS-FM, that station Kidd worked for, in a news release. “He died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him.”
The Dallas-based radio and TV personality has been a mainstay on stations across the country for nearly 20 years. His show has been called the most listened to contemporary morning show on the radio.
Reports of his death were originally believed to be part of a cruel hoax, but were definitively confirmed by those close to Kidd on Saturday evening. Kidd’s sudden death saddened many across the nation, including the celebrities he formed close relationships with through the years. Joe Jonas, Dr. Phil, Mark Cuban and many others have already shared their condolences on his Twitter page.
Kidd leaves behind a college-aged daughter and new fiancée.
In a retrospectively tragic coincidence, Kidd joked just last week about what he would say to his co-hosts just before dying: “When I die, you have permission to take a bunch of creepy pictures of my body… I want to thank all of you guys for being at my deathbed today. I’m going to miss you so much.”
