Kenya Moore gives birth to daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly
A new life twirls on as The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore has given birth to her first child, daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly!
People reveals that little Brooklyn was born on Sunday, November 4 at 9:39 AM EST. She weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces. The site reports that Kenya is doing well, and that “Brooklyn is very alert and active.”
Brooklyn, the first child for 47-year-old Kenya and her husband Marc Daly, was named after the place that her parents fell in love. Her middle name is the same as Kenya’s grandmother, who raised her and passed away last year.
As with most anything having to do with Kenya, Brooklyn’s birth had a bit of drama as she had to be delivered via emergency C-section. Kenya has been updating fans on Instagram throughout her pregnancy, and last week she revealed that she had been diagnosed with preeclampsia, which has caused her to gain a lot of weight very quickly.
“I gained 17 lbs in ONE week due to severe swelling and water retention, high blood pressure, and excess protein in urine,” Kenya captioned a photo of her swollen feet. “This is NOT normal!”
She stated at the time that she had taken more tests, and that if the results came back with even higher results, that doctors would have to deliver her baby immediately. Clearly, the test results must have been higher as Kenya posted a photo from the hospital on Saturday night and wrote: “If you want to make God laugh have a plan… won’t be long now. Pray for us ?? #babydaly #weloveyou #prayers.”
Congratulations to Kenya and Marc! It’s so great to hear that both mom and daughter are doing well. I’m sure I’m not alone in being anxious to see the first photo of Brooklyn, the Princess of Twirl!
