Katy Perry premieres new Purr purr-fume

Newlywed Katy Perry didn’t take much time off for her honeymoon with husband Russell Brand. Today she was hard at work promoting her fragrance Purr in London, which comes in a cutesy purple cat bottle, and promises to be a sweet fragrance.

The scent was developed by Firmanich fragrances, and according to fragrantica.com, it “combines top notes of peach, forbidden apple, gardenia and green bamboo with the heart of jasmine, pink freesia and Bulgarian rose and the base of vanilla orchid, creamy sandalwood, white amber, coconut and musk.”

This cartoony, saccharine fragrance seems to fit pretty well with Katy’s shtick. She’s aiming to draw her character with thick hard lines and bright colors. She’s like a scratch-and-sniff that smells of bubblegum.

Katy’s dress was quite subdued for the event. I guess she didn’t want to upstage her perfume bottle, but it’s really kind of disappointing. She should have worn a costume based on her smelly cat, or a least made a dress out of the bottles. C’mon Katy!

Next time she launches a product, she should seek advice from Katie Price.
