Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been dating for almost two years now and according to Justin, they are closer than ever. Although there have been rumors that the two are on the verge of a break-up over jealousy issues, it sure didn’t sound that way when Justin sat down with Oprah Winfrey and dished on their relationship.
“I never make her separate from me [because] I don’t ever want her to feel like I’m ashamed of her,” Justin tells Oprah in a new interview. Justin, who is currently on a North American tour, may be busy, but he always makes time for Selena and even recently met up with her in Las Vegas where the two visited a haunted house.
“I feel like a lot of guys do that, especially in the business,” he says of stars who keep their relationship a secret thinking it will help their career. “They don’t want to be seen with [their girlfriend], so they’ll make them ride in separate cars and do all that getaway stuff. [But] if we get away, we’re getting away together.”
Girlfriend Selena hasn’t had the easiest time dating the teen heartthrob — especially at the beginning of their relationship, but she’s probably use to all the craziness by now. “It’s hard,” she admitted early on in their romance. “It hurts, it really does. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything wrong. I’ve been best friends with him for a very long time. It does hurt my feelings a lot but I try not to focus on it. I have a strong family and great fans.”
