Is ‘Knight and Day’ in trouble? Tom Cruise called in for reshoots
The Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz action comedy Knight and Day will hit theaters June 24, but according to our source, film crews are preparing for Cruise to come in for reshoots this afternoon!
It’s common for actors to do special effects work this late in production, but the shooting taking place at Silvercup Studios in New York City this afternoon is not for special effects we’re told.
Knight and Day is a crucial picture for Cruise, who’s recent high-profile projects (Tropic Thunder excluded) have been poo-pooed by critics and movie-goers alike (See: Valkyrie), so it could just be director James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma) doing some “beyond the call of duty” fine tuning.
The flick has already received a bit of criticism after its initial trailer was released and then a second, “less girly” trailer (with the wedding scene missing) was released shortly after, suggesting perhaps that the marketing folks for the film are struggling with an identity crisis.

As a celebrity blogger I’m reluctant to admit that I like a good Tom Cruise action movie now and then, but I’m just not feeling this one. Maybe the reshoots they’re doing will involve an F-14 Tomcat fighter jet and Kenny Loggins? That would have been enough to rescue even Valkyrie, so surely it would be enough to salvage a chemistryless Diaz/Cruise joint!
