The tenuous marriage of Taylor and Russell Armstrong was a major plot line for the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Behind the constant back and forth we saw on camera was a more harrowing reality as Taylor has told People that Russell was often verbally and physically abusive with her.
Taylor filed for divorce back on July 15th and is now revealing some of the darker details behind her reasons for doing so. She stated that her and Russell’s often explosive arguments would turn nasty as Russell would swear at her, call her names and even become violent, throwing objects, grabbing her and shoving and pulling her hair.
As for Russell he did a very rare thing when it comes to one of these stories, he fessed up to the accusations for the most part. Here’s his comment:
“Did I push her? Yes, maybe things happened in the heat of the moment, but it was during a time in our lives that was not characteristic of who we were. This show has literally pushed us to the limit.”
As for now Taylor’s focus is on her 5-year-old daughter Kennedy. Despite the physical abuse she wants to co-parent with Russell and wants her daughter to still think the world of him. Taylor also stated that she still believes he is an “amazing dad” and feels regret that Kennedy will be missing out on having both parents in the same home.
Taylor posted the following brief comment on Twitter about this serious reveal about her marriage:
One of her followers asked her if it would be tough knowing that her troubles would be so public and that Kennedy would be involved with that. Taylor answered by stating that, “It’s heartbreaking. I have sleepless nights thinking about how to protect her.”
