Gretchen Rossi awarded $500,000 in defamation lawsuit against Jay Photoglou

Gretchen Rossi wins lawsuit against Jay Photoglou

Remember that lawsuit that Gretchen Rossi filed against her Jay Photoglou like years and years ago? Well, the case finally went to court and the judge ruled in favor of the Real Housewives of Orange County star and has order Jay Photoglou to pay her over $500,000 in damages for trashing her to the media.

According to TMZ, the two had been going back and forth for over 2 years before today’s judgement and in addition to the court granting Gretchen a half a million dollars, she was also awarded her an additional $23,250 in punitive damages.

Oddly enough, just last year, the judge ruled in Jay’s favor and ordered Gretchen to pay him $40,799.38 in lawyers fees after some of her claims in the defamation lawsuit were dismissed. It was kind of a slap in the face for Gretchen considering she was the suing him. However, after years of fighting, she’ll be getting her $40k back and more.

As for Jay, all he’s got is a huge bill — and a restraining order.

Meanwhile, Gretchen and the ladies of Real Housewives of Orange County have been hard at work on the eighth season of the show. While the cast has yet to be confirmed, everyone from last season including Vicki Gunvalson, Alexis Bellino (oh yes, she is back), Gretchen, Tamra Barney, and Heather Dubrow have all been filming.
