The Bachelor’s Gia Allemand thought love eluded her, fought with boyfriend on day of suicide

Gia Allemand Suicide at 29
In the one week since Bachelor star Gia Allemand’s passing details about her final hours are slowly getting revealed — and the picture being painted is nothing short of tragic.

According to TMZ, Gia believed her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, was cheating on her. She confronted him during lunch on Monday, August 12. Gia told Ryan she still loved him in spite of the cheating suspicions, however Ryan reportedly said he didn’t love her any more.

When Ryan dropped Gia off at their shared home in New Orleans, the heartbroken Gia wrote a suicide note and used a vacuum cord to strangle herself. He arrived home a while later to find her clinging to life and she was rushed to the hospital. Without oxygen for 30 to 40 minutes, Gia lost critical brain functions. Her family made the difficult decision to take her off life support on Wednesday, August 14.

Gia’s close friend Melinda Farina has since opened up to The National Enquirer, saying Gia was a hopeless romantic.

“All Gia ever wanted was to be loved, to have a husband and children,” Melinda said. “But every time she thought that she was close to her dreams, they eluded her.”

Meanwhile, Gia’s mother, whom she was on the phone with around the time of her suicide, has released statement to warn people against believing all reports.

“As her mother, I am well aware of Gia’s close friends and her best friends,” Donna Micheletti. “And I am personally going on record to refute all statements to the media out there thus far with the exception of official statements we have released through publicist Penelope Jean Hayes, and those jointly with Ryan Anderson’s NBA team representation.”

Regardless of the Gia’s reasons for ending her life, the bottom line is that those close to her will forever be devastated by the loss. She may have felt that love eluded her, but she was still a young woman with many people who cared for her.
