Florida pageant mom fed daughter tapeworms so she’d lose weight
During an episode of Untold Stories of the ER a nurse shared an unbelievable story about the lengths a Florida woman will go to in order to be a really crappy mom.
Nurse Maricar Cabral-Osorio thought a teen who had been admitted to her hospital was pregnant due to her symptoms which included severe stomach pains. When an ultrasound was performed it was revealed there was no fetus but there was an unexplainable growth in her intestines.
The girl’s condition remained a mystery until a gruesome trip to the bathroom.
Cabral-Osorio said:
“It was a toilet bowl full of tapeworms. It was so gross and she had pooped all these tapeworms. There were a couple that were very long and wiggling around trying to get out of the toilet bowl.”
Now that the parasites were free of the host she started to recover. One burning question remained… How did she come to be infested with the tapeworms in the first place?
According to the nurse it was revealed that the girl’s mom had purchased tapeworm eggs from Mexico and forced her daughter to ingest them as a means of weight loss for her pageant competitions.
Cabral-Osorio added:
“The mom was apologizing to the girl. It’s like ‘I’m so sorry. You know, I did it just to make you a little skinnier. You needed some help before we went on to the pageant.”
It’s unclear if criminal charges were ever brought against the mom.
Here’s the dramatic reenactment of what went down:
