First look at Robin Williams’ new CBS comedy, The Crazy Ones
Besides some spot appearances, it’s been a while since audiences have seen Robin Williams on the small screen. That’s set to change this fall when CBS premieres The Crazy Ones, a comedy starring Robin and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
According to CBS, the show is a single-camera workplace comedy that will follow quirky advertising boss Simon Roberts (Robin) and his type-A daughter, Sydney (Sarah Michelle). Although the setting isn’t particularly unique, The Crazy Ones is a far cry from Mad Men.
“(It is) about a larger-than-life advertising genius whose unorthodox methods and unpredictable behavior would get him fired… If he weren’t the boss,” teased CBS in a press release. “Simon Roberts is the head of a powerful agency, with the biggest clients and brands in the world, but even more important to him is that his daughter Sydney is by his side.”
Having big stars and a promising premise are helpful qualities for new shows, but they certainly don’t guarantee success. Fortunately, the content seems pretty darn hilarious — especially if you’re into Robin William’s traditional brand of humor.
The CBS comedy will premiere on Thursday, September 26 at 9/8 p.m. CST. Will you watch?
