Faith Evans set to star in her own reality show

R & B artist Faith Evans is set to star in a reality show chronicling her life.  The show, It’s All About Faith, will focus on Evans as she tries to revitalize her career following a five-year hiatus.  In addition to her singing comeback, the show will also focus on Evans’ struggle to balance her married-life with husband-manager Todd Russaw and their four kids.

Production company E1 Entertainment is spearheading this attempt to return Evans to the pop mainstream.  As part of a multi-platform approach, E1 Music is set to distribute Evans’ upcoming sixth album via her imprint Prolific Music Group.  The album currently has no release date.

E1 Television CEO John Moaryniss said:

“This is a perfect example of how E1 Entertainment is implementing its strategy of utilizing its three business pillars — television, film and music. This allows us to help them reach the largest possible audience around the world.”

Evans is excited about the prospects for her show and record:

“2010 is shaping up to be an amazing year for me! To be in a place where I have grown from an entertainer to an entrepreneur is truly a blessing.  I am excited to share this incredible experience with my fans and the world.”

Before her hiatus, Evans was a major player in the music industry.  Her albums Faith, Keep the Faith, and Faithfully all went platinum and featured numerous top ten singles.  One of her most memorable live moments came during the 1997 MTV Music Awards tribute to her late husband Notorious B.I.G. in which she performed with Puff Daddy and Sting on “I’ll Be Missing You,” a song based on the melody of the Sting-penned “Every Breath You Take.”  Here is the clip from that performance:

It’s All About Faith is currently being shopped around to TV networks.  There is no indication yet on who may pick up the show.
