Emily Ratajkowski says Blurred Lines video is the bane of her existence
24-year-old Emily Ratajkowski owes her blossoming career to the controversial “Blurred Lines” music video, but now says that it’s the “bane of [her] existence.”
“I wasn’t into the idea at all at first,” the actress, who’s appearing alongside Zac Efron in We Are Your Friends told InStyle UK. “I think I came off as a bit annoyed in the video. Now, it’s the bane of my existence. When anyone comes up to me about “Blurred Lines,” I’m like, are we seriously talking about a video from three years ago?”
It’s not the nudity that Emily’s annoyed by, but by the fact that people make such a big deal over her body. “It’s weird to me that the reaction to a woman’s naked body is so controversial in our culture,” she told the magazine. “My mom taught me to never apologise for my sexuality. My dad never made me feel embarrassed. I also don’t think I’ve ever had an awareness of my own body as being super-sexual. It was always just my body.”
Emily is next set to appear in Guy Ritchie’s Knights Of the Roundtable: King Arthur along with Jude Law, Charlie Hunnam and Eric Bana.
