Acerbic host Chelsea Handler intends on walking away from her talk show Chelsea Lately when her contract with E! ends in 9 months.
Handler, who’s not one known to pull any punches, has been vocal about her dissatisfaction with the network she’s called home. Her manager told THR, “Chelsea intends to leave when her contract expires. She hired me to figure out her life after E! We have at least seven suitors and many ideas.” These “ideas” include a possible radio show and another nightly or week-night show on a different network.
From E!’s end they didn’t have much to say about the news. “Chelsea has nine months left on her contract and E! will not comment on the future of Chelsea Lately at this time.”
Back on March 5 Handler told Howard Stern on his radio show that E! is, “a sad, sad place to live,” and that, “They don’t know what they’re doing. They have no ideas. It’s a failure.”
