The nurse receptionist who transferred the Kate Middleton hoax phone call from Australian radio DJs claiming to be the Queen was found dead this morning from an apparent suicide near the King Edward VII Hospital where she worked. Jacintha Saldanha was a mother of two and had been a nurse at the hospital for the past four years.

Maggie Rizer says United Airlines ‘killed’ her dog

Maggie Rizer recently arranged for her two dogs to fly with her from New York to San Francisco. The professional model was sure she took all of the precautions necessary, so when she arrived in San Francisco and found out that one of her dogs, a two-year-old golden retriever named Beatrice, had passed away during the flight, she was left devastated and shocked. After a frustratingly difficult time getting the dog’s body back from the airline, she took it to her vet and was appalled when the necropsy showed Bea had died from heatstroke. Maggie has since taken to the internet to express her anger and frustration toward United Airlines with a heartfelt blog entry titled, “United Airlines Killed Our Golden Retriever, Bea.”

Michael Clarke Duncan dies

Michael Clarke Duncan passed away yesterday in a Los Angeles hospital. The actor was just 54. A month and a half ago, Duncan had gone into cardiac arrest but doctors expected a full recovery. At the time of the incident, his girlfriend Omarosa Manigault had been able to resuscitate him. Unfortunately, this time around there was nothing anyone could do.

UPDATE – A source close to Scott tells ABC News that the director had been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer.

As the music community gathered last night for the Grammys and celebrated the life of Whitney Houston more details have emerged on the late singer’s passing. According to sources, Houston’s family has been notified that she did not die of drowning, but rather from what appears to be a toxic mix of prescription pills including Xanax and alcohol.

From Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen: “I can confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire and police responded minutes later. It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”
