Bravo moving ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ to Sunday nights beginning November7
Bravo made a pledge at their 2010 Upfront presentation that they would be providing viewers with five nights of original programming and beginning November 7 they will be making good on that pledge!
The immensely popular peaches from The Real Housewives of Atlanta will move from their Monday night time slot to a new home Sunday night at 10pm, replacing reruns of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. (This marks the first time any of the women on the show have ever changed homes not because of divorce or foreclosure. Zing!)
From The Hollywood Reporter:
“We want to start the week earlier,” said Bravo president Frances Berwick. “This means each night is a promotional platform for the next night and it becomes like a domino effect that strengthens our schedule.”
“We’re doing this now that we know we have a firm following for Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Berwick said. “We have been reducing our reliance on acquisitions and building our original programming — all those good things that differentiate us.”
The 10pm Sunday time slot is normally shared by the very popular reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E! but the show just aired its season finale, opening the door wide for viewers hungry for drama as a weekend dessert. And speaking of dessert, Bravo will be providing a delicious “cherry on the top” in the form of their successful talk show Watch What Happens Live hosted by the incomparable Andy Cohen, which will follow RHOA at 11pm. (No word if WWHL plans to continue airing Thursday nights after The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as well.)
I don’t know about you, but I’ve got nothing against getting served my recommended weekly allowance of peaches a night early! Plus, it should make watercooler talks on Monday morning that much more interesting!
